review: Boulevard Brewing Double-Wide IPA

Today's beer adventure: Boulevard Brewing Double-Wide IPA (Missouri, USA). 355ml Bottle. 8.5% ABV. Served in pint glass. Purchased in Minot, ND by my good buddy Derek Barnes! No idea about price! Who cares!?!?

The pour is brown with ruby red highlights. Head is HUGE, with copious rocky bubbles that last seemingly forever. Lacing is MASSIVE! Nose is of pine, grapefruit, blackberry(?) and unripe orange.

Flavour is (consults the thesaurus) GIGANTIC! Heavy citrus - orange being prominent - and pine needles. Coriander and cloves, with malty sweetness in the backend. Pleasingly bitter finish. This is one sweet IPA.

Rating is 9/10 dogs. This beer made me instantly wish I had more than two in the fridge. Wowee! Big hops, sweet palate, fun beer! Maybe not as dry as some might like, but this reviewer LIKE! One of the Boulevard Smokestack Series.
