review: Alaskan Amber Alt Style Beer

Today's beer adventure: Alaskan Amber Alt Style Beer. 5.3% ABV. 355ml Bottle. Served in pint glass. Purchased during our trip to Plentywood. ~$2.00/bottle.

The pour is ruby amber. Small amount of quickly dissipating white head. Light lacing. Nose is of apples, spice, malt, citrusy hops, grainy, woody?

Flavour is a touch sour - in a good way, sweet malt, citrus fruit. Mouthfeel is a touch viscous. I was left with apples and pears on the tongue afterward. Slight bitterness in the finish. This beer draws you back again and again.

Rating is 8.0/10 dogs.  I really like this beer. It's a very sessionable, clean beer. It breaks no "new" ground., but is very solid. On a trip to Alaska a number of years ago, we tried to drink it all. We did not succeed. The taste of this beer brings me back to that trip every time. I wish they sold it in Regina.
